Whether your house is being seen by potential buyers or old friends, how it looks and how people feel upon entering makes a lasting impression. With my natural instinct for organizing and design, I can guide you into making that lasting impression a good one.
HOME STAGING®:
"The way you live in your home and the way you present it to sell are two different things". (Barb Schwarz).
First developed in the mid-seventies by Barb Schwarz, Home Staging® is the process of preparing a house for sale regardless of price, condition or location.
Once on the market, your home cannot reflect who you are. To ensure a quick sale, it needs to appeal to a wide range of prospective buyers. Depersonalizing and neutralizing your space helps others imagine themselves calling your house their home.
Presenting your home to sell is not always easy on your own. To determine which changes are necessary, CREATING MORE SPACE has the experience, skills and connections to get the job done well and in a timely manner. Buyers will be enticed by your home's move-in condition, giving them no reason to chip away at the asking price.
The Home Staging® Process:
STAGE 1 - CREATING MORE SPACE will provide a CONSULTATION to evaluate your home's market appeal indoors and out. You'll be given a detailed analysis that notes recommendations for improving trouble areas and highlighting best features.
STAGE 2 - Upon reviewing the analysis, you can choose to COMPLETE THE WORK yourself or hire CREATING MORE SPACE to assist you, charged at an hourly rate. We can do as little or as much as you need depending on your budget and time frame.
STAGE 3 - After the work is completed, the final phase of STAGING® YOUR HOME will take place, using existing furniture and accessories where possible.
Additional Services:
Accessories Rental: if your home needs a little 'lift' for Staging®, I have a selection of accessories for hire.
Furniture Rental: available either for empty homes or for additional pieces when Staging®.
'Move In' Staging: I can help you settle into your new home, by assisting with furniture placement, decor ideas, painting and colour schemes.
Realtor Benefits:
- Staging® costs less than the first price reduction.
- Photos of stagedhomes look better in print and internet advertising.
- Your listing will stand out from the competition.
- Realtors recognise staged® homes as ready to sell.
- Realtors are more receptive to showing homes that are staged®.
- Building inspectors view staged® homes as well maintained/updated.
Investing in your clients' homes with home staging® demonstrates your level of commitment to selling their properties and alleviates the need to reduce your commission rate. Taking this action will set you apart from everyone else and show your clients that you will go the extra mile to get their homes SOLD.
"Buyers only know what they see, not the way it's going to be."
What is an ASP™?
An ASP™ is a professional who has completed a rigorous training program covering specific techniques and concepts in home presentation and Staging®. By employing the unique skills of an ASP you are assisting property owners in presenting their homes for sale in the best possible way. Each Home Staging® Professional is responsible for using a proven set of guidelines to help prepare the home, both inside and out, to meet the Staged® Home requirements.
Rapport is essential when choosing the right Staging® Professional. An ASP Stager will be able to communicate with homeowners about necessary changes without offending them.
The ASP™ designation is a benchmark of true excellence in customer service for home sellers. Johanne Lewis is dedicated to the principles and practices of Staging® and the many benefits this service will bring to her clients.

Curb Appeal:
The first impression when a buyer drives up to your home is critical. Walk across the street and look at your home through the eyes of a buyer. Be honest with yourself, what do you see?
"You can't sell it if you can't see it!"
By cutting back the overgrowth and introducing more lighting, this is a very attractive view with Curb Appeal.
